I thought it was the Internet of Things (IoT).
I think it's the Internet of Everything (IoE).
Thanks John Chambers.
However, I'm not interested in everthing. I'm not interested in the role of servers and desktops. I'm interested in everything else.
- Machine-to-Machine (M2M)
- The Internet of Things (IoT)
That being said, I have a neurological condition that requires me to categorize everything.
I think machines, big machines. I think energy and transportation. I think wind turbines, airplane enginees, and railroads. I think sensor data. I think business.
I tend to think of IoT as a superset of M2M. I think home appliances and consumer electronics. I think integration. I think consumer.
I think mobile phones and tablets. That's it.
I think smart watches, fitness watches, and Google Glass. When I think smart watches, I think mobile. I think Google Wear. They are an extension of mobile phones and tablets. When I think fitness watches, I think IoT. They are not an extension of mobile phones and tablets. For example, my Motorola MOTACTV is not an extension of my phone.
The Industrial Internet
